From the title of this record, the message given is about time. Time, meant as a cycle, so perpetual or continuous. So as a cycle, the first thing that we can think about is a repetition of an event, and in sound we can call it a loop. Loop is one of the principal characteristics of Halfcastle’ sound, that has shaken within its discography from ambient-noise, electroacoustic/avantgarde and post-rock oriented music. But this time, “like a perpetual, continuous memory” is yet something very intimate and song-writing based, even if there’s not a “true” song in the record, except for “capo song” that quite reveals some echoed-delayed voices into. A soft narration, from an incipit of two pieces (“Quiet Hours”, “Father Blues”) with influences from ambient artists such as Taylor Deupree and Marcus Fishcer (to name a few), to other tracks (“Hope Chest”, “Quarrel”) close to a logic which represents the instrumentation used. All developed into a unique form and shape - just a like a sound dramaturgy - from the beginning to the new-age-y closure with the title track of the album.
